How is black sesame different from regular sesame? Black sesame retains its hull, which is where most of its calcium, iron, and lignans — particularly sesamin and sesamolin — are concentrated. White sesame is typically hulled, which strips away much of its nutritional density. Black sesame also has a deeper, more complex flavor: roasted, slightly bitter, rich.

Why these eight ingredients specifically? Each one earns its place. Black sesame is the foundation — nutritionally dense and flavor-forward. Pumpkin seeds add magnesium and plant protein. Chia and flaxseed bring omega-3s and fiber. White sesame adds texture. Goji berry contributes natural tartness and antioxidant compounds. Honey binds and sweetens without refined sugar. Coconut oil holds it together cleanly.

Is it very sweet? Lightly. Raw honey is the only sweetener and we use it deliberately. The sesame flavor leads; the honey rounds it out. If you've ever had good halvah or a sesame brittle, you'll know the register — just cleaner and less sugary.

Any allergens I should know about? Yes — sesame is a top-9 allergen in the US. SESA Crunch is gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free, but it is a sesame product. Not suitable for sesame allergies. Produced in a facility that handles tree nuts.
